Today is “ESPY Day” over at ESPN. An ESPY is a sports award given every year for a wide variety of sports accomplishments over the previous year (think sports version of the Grammies or Oscars). Tonight, July 15, is the awards show, but ESPY Day has taken on a much bigger meaning than simply another awards show. ESPY Day is a unified initiative across all of ESPN’s media platforms to raise money to help find a cure for cancer through the V Foundation. To date, ESPY-related fundraising efforts have raised more than $23.5 million for cancer research.
This post is not a pitch to get you to donate money. While it would be nice of you to donate, the purpose of my post is to shine the light on those in our world who are fighting for their tomorrow. Whether someone is fighting cancer, depression, addiction, uncertainty about a job or any of the uncountable things a person may publicly or silently be battling, they need hope and encouragement.
Whether you know it or not, you are leading, working with and living next to someone who is fighting for tomorrow.
Make a difference today for someone fighting for tomorrow. The difference you make with your dollars, your smile, your word of encourage, your helping hand may make all the difference.
May God bless you in how you live and lead!
